Whanau Group Activities

Each Friday afternoon straight after lunch, all of the children in the school go to their whanau groups where they learn about maori language and culture. Each whanau group has three student leaders who do much of the organisation and running of the programme. A kete of maori activities and resources has been placed in each classroom to support our learning in this area and for the last fortnight the student leaders have each selected an activity from the kete to share with the children in their group. In the pictures below you can see members of the Rata whanau group participating in some of the activities organised by their student leaders.
